The Swedish eyewear brand launches in travel retail at Vancouver and Toronto airports, with US locations to follow.
Stockholm, 17 June 2026
GLAS is entering North America. The Swedish eyewear brand has partnered with Avolta, the world's leading travel-retail operator, to sell its readers and sunglasses in airport stores. The rollout starts in Canada, at Avolta's travel-retail stores in Vancouver and Toronto, and extends to five locations across three regions in the United States.
Travelers are who GLAS designs for. The brand builds readers and sunreaders that are light, easy to wear in transit, and tinted so travelers can read in the sun. That fit makes the airport a natural home for the brand.
The Avolta partnership builds on the travel-retail presence GLAS already holds with Gebr. Heinemann and TRN, and follows GLAS being named a finalist in the 2026 Global Travel Retail Awards, the channel's only consumer-voted programme.
“North America is a milestone for us. Travelers are exactly who we design for, and Avolta gives us the reach to put GLAS in front of millions of them. We start in Canada, and we intend to grow across the US from there.”
— Maria Lundtang, CEO, GLAS
[DRAFT — to be approved by Avolta before publishing] “GLAS brings a design-led, sustainable point of view to the readers and sunglasses category that our travelers respond to. We are glad to introduce the brand across our North American airports.”
